Who we are
This site is published by Midcent Media Group AB, which is the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us at privacy@midcent.uk.
Cookies and analytics
We use analytics to understand which articles are read. Under UK GDPR and PECR that needs your consent, so nothing analytical runs until you give it: analytics storage is set to denied by default, and only the banner you see on your first visit can change that. If you decline, we do not set analytics cookies and we do not ask again on the next page.
Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage under the key
midcent-consent. Clearing your browser data for this site clears the
choice and brings the banner back.
We do not currently show advertising on this site, and advertising and personalisation storage stay denied whatever you choose about analytics.
Newsletter
If you sign up for the newsletter we store your email address, the time you signed up, and which page you signed up from. We use it to send you the newsletter and for nothing else. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to delete your address at privacy@midcent.uk.
Article feedback
When you rate an article we store the rating against that article, not against you. It is a running tally per article — no account, no identifier, nothing that points back to a reader.
Where your data is held
Newsletter addresses are stored in Cloudflare's key-value storage, which our site runs on. Analytics data, where you have consented to it, is processed by Google. Both may involve transfers outside the UK under the safeguards those providers publish.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Write to privacy@midcent.uk and we will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
